Buddhist philosophy

The monks at Namgyal study Buddhist Philosophy for a period of Fifteenth years, with the following curriculum:

  1. First two years: The Collected topics on the elementary principles of debates.
  2. Third year: Science of Mind and Science of Reasoning.
  3. Fourth year : The VaibhASika & Sautrantikas section of Chan-kya’s Tenets.
  4. Fifth year: The Chittamatra (doctrine of mind-only) section of Chan-kya’s Tenets.
  5. Sixth year: The First section of Fifth Dalai Lama’s Perfection (i.e. paths and ground).
  6. Seventh year: The Second section of Fifth Dalai Lama’s Perfection (i.e. generating the mind, two truths and the classification of logical investigation).
  7. Eighth year: The Third section of Fifth Dalai Lama’s Perfection (i.e. four noble truths,Dependent and Arising and three refuges).
  8. Ninth year: The Madhyamika (Middle Way) section of Chan-kya’s Tenet.
  9. Tenth year: The Middle View section of Essence of Eloquent Explanation.
  10. Tenth year: The Middle View section of Essence of Eloquent Explanation.
  11. Eleventh year: The special Insight section of the Middling and Great Exposition of the Stages of the Path.
  12. Twelfth year: The three lower tantric section of Tsong-Kha-pa’s Great Exposition of Secret Mantra.
  13. Thirteenth year: The Earth ritual preliminary to the rite of Highest Yoga tantric section of Great Exposition of Secret Mantra and the Commentary on the Compendium of Wisdom Vajra.
  14. Fourteenth year: The generation stage of Highest Yoga Tantra section of the Great Exposition.
  15. Fifteenth year : The completion stage section of Great Exposition and the ground and paths of Kalachakra tantric text by Khe-drup Rinpoche.
